Akhil George can be found at the library cutting up phone books and magazines to find the right poetic voice of postmodernism. He is best known for his book “Some Hallucinations”. He writes political poetry, experimental sound poetry, exploding poetic verses (Avant-garde poetry), and Language Poetry. He uses aggressive imagery and ritualistically invoke political ideologies in his work He has an MA in literature from Surrey University. He has spent over a year at Surrey University researching indigenous religious practices and Transcendentalism. Akhil has traveled extensively around the Middle East and Asia learning about the different religious and political ideologies in the region
Following his graduation, he travelled to Syria to fight as a member of the Kurdish YPG in the war against the Islamic State. He was later wounded in action liberating the city of Ash Sha'fah from ISIS control.

Her current projects include editing books for children and adults, designing anti-bias preschool curricula, working for the organization We Need Diverse Books, and drinking lots of tea.
